MR20 Armchair Black Leather Chrome Cantilever Chair Bauhaus Mies Van Der Rohe
A gorgeous and very rare Ludwig Mies van der Rohe MR20 black leather and tubular chrome armchair in wonderful condition. Designed by Modernist supremo Mies (van der Rohe), this beautiful chair was likely made in the 1970s and will add a timeless minimalist aesthetic, beautiful Bauhaus curves, superb comfort and knockout designer flair to any interior.
Made of chromed tubular steel, the MR20 features a cantilever design and has overarching arms for the ultimate sleek Bauhaus look. It has a broad black leather seat and matching back with black stitching and is a joy to sit in and gently rock using the cantilever design.
Mies van der Rohe was one of the godfathers of Modernism and was the last director of the Bauhaus design institute. His MR20 armchair is exhibited in the Museum Of Modern Art and remains one of the quintessential Modernist Bauhaus designs. Smart, elegant and timeless, this is a fabulous design icon and will impress in any setting.
CONDITION
This is in very good condition. Structurally sound, the lovely quality leather is in very good condition with just a few very minor marks to show its age. The chrome is in really lovely condition, has been cleaned and polished and has very minimal and to-be-expected scratch marks. Overall it’s a stunning rare chair in wonderful condition and if well looked after it should remain just as fantastic for many more generations to come – please see the photos.
